5.1 Legal Identification
The laboratory be a legal entity.
5.2 Management Responsibility
Management must be identified for having responsibility for the laboratory.
5.3 Range of Laboratory Activities (NEW)
The laboratory must define the range of laboratory activities for the scope of tests, calibrations (and related sampling activities) that the laboratory is going to be accredited.
5.4 Requirements
The requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, the laboratory's customers, regulatory authorities and accreditation bodies are expected to be met under this clause.
5.5 Organization
Define the organization in an Organization Chart.
5.6 Authority and Resources
Personnel with defined authority and resources must be in place to implement, maintain and improve the management system, identify deviations from it, initiate actions to prevent or minimize deviations, report on the performance of the management system to management and ensure the effectiveness of lab activities.
5.7 Communication and Integrity
Management ensures management system communication and meeting customer requirements as well as maintaining the integrity of the management system.
